Rex and Angela Sallama migrated from Lebanon to Australia in 1975, although Rex had previously been to Australia, deciding to settle his family in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Rex’s passion for food began in the early 1960s when he left his home town and went to Frankfurt, Germany to train as a five-star chef. While in Frankfurt he cooked for the Beatles and other renowned people in the entertainment industry. We have been in the nut, spice and coffee industry since the mid to late 70s and our business at St Albans Market has thrived since 1989. Our five children have been raised within the business and continue to help to this day. Through our 30 years at St Albans Market, we have seen multiple generations of our most loyal customers. We hope to continue to provide the community with fresh and tasty products for many years to come.
